  • This depends on placement and environmental factors where the dock is situated. EZ Docks (like many floating dock systems) were designed to be easily removed when required. This is a feature that makes them desirable. Like any investment in a product, you should want to protect its longevity. Any dock is safer when removed during the winter season. There are some exceptions; like small bodies of water (ponds or artificial lakes) areas with no ice, or very minimal current.

  • The maintenance of EZ Dock is minimal at best. EZ Docks are built to last and do NOT disintegrate over time like many of the components of traditional dock construction. In order to keep your EZ Dock in good condition - you can do 3 simple things: Pressure wash your dock system several times during the season. Or - at the very least - at the beginning and the end of each season. Anything floating in water will begin to stain if not washed. It’s recommended that you remove and reinstall the dock system at the end of each season for cleaning and storage. Store the docks (after being cleaned) elevated on blocks - not on bare ground, if possible. These 3 steps will keep your EZ Dock in pristine condition for decades. We have customers with dock systems that are now in their 23 season and have never had any issue!

  • EZ Docks were put through rigorous third party laboratory testing to measure their durability against degradation and breakdown from environmental factors over time. The tests mimicked the wear and tear that would likely occur in the elements over a 40 year timeline. The results confirmed no existence of measurable breakdown or disintegration of material. They concluded the EZ Dock product to be the safest environmental dock system with the lowest cost of ownership.

  • The underside of an EZ Dock features several pylon shaped air chamber cavities. These cavities keep air trapped within these columns and the water surface. The pressure of gravity acts on the trapped air creating a suction referred to as Hydro-Static Surface Tension (or Pressure) - a scientific principle (P=pgh).

If you ever had to flip over anything floating in the water and found it overly difficult - you experienced Hydro-static Surface Pressure.

  • EZ Dock sections weigh between 150-450 lbs. Click here for a full list.

  • EZ Dock's pylon truss cavity design utilizes the scientific principle of hydro-static tension (suction beneath the surface) to achieve the strongest connection possible. EZ Docks essentially become a part of water as opposed to riding the surface uncontrolled. The wake-muffling pockets around the perimeter aid this stability by allowing water to pass through without interrupting the sealed connection to the water.

  • EZ Docks have a 15” standing height. While in the water they have a freeboard height of 13” (the amount of dock that sits above the surface). Only 2” of the dock actually sits beneath the water.

  • Per section - EZ Docks can float between 1,000 lbs - 4,000 lbs. For a detailed list - click here. The construction of EZ Dock allows it to support the most weight per square foot than any other floating dock system - 62.5 lbs.

  • If we’re speaking about dock platforms - EZ Docks can function in as little as 3 inches of water. This obviously isn’t recommended, as the water fluctuation and weight crossing the dock at that depth would cause issues. But this does illustrate how little depth is needed to maintain functionality.

  • Nothing but - Air. No foam or fillers. EZ Docks are a sealed, single piece polyethylene roto-mould section which use trapped air inside and underneath it to keep it securely afloat.

  • EZ Docks are constructed of high-grade marine polyethylene. The roto-mould process creates a ⅜” thick, self-contained single section containing no inner materials except air. This design produces an exceptionally strong floating dock that is also extremely resistant to puncture or damage from the elements. The components that comprise the EZ Dock system are its coupler system - made of compressed vulcanized rubber, and the dock sections - built of incredibly strong, layered polyethylene compound.

  • A key aspect of EZ dock strength is its ability to absorb and deflect the destructive shock and torsion impact of water movement. Specifically, it’s the rubber couplers that receive the pressure so that the dock doesn’t receive the impact. The couplers (top and bottom connectors) can absorb and disperse up to 4,400 lbs. of damaging torsion and shock impact away from the dock sections, per coupler.

  • EZ Dock’s integrated water channel cut-outs and checkerboard grip pattern work together to collect and divert water off the dock. This design all but eliminates the possibility of a slippery surface.

  • All EZ Dock sections, ports and accessories are available in the original beige and grey.

  • They are, in fact. The polyethylene composition is resistant to breakdown, but - when needed - the dock sections and rubber couplers can both be recycled.

  • The linear low density polyethylene used in construction is completely resistant to environmental breakdown.

  • In keeping with the key design aspect of EZ Dock - versatility - engineers put a great deal of thought into how they could be anchored. EZ Dock systems boast an array of anchoring options to facilitate connection to virtually any type of waterfront or existing platforms. Each option serves a specific purpose and is designed to maintain the industry-leading stability of the EZ Dock system.

  • Most EZ dock systems are anchored in one variation or another of 3 standard anchoring solutions: A Pipe, post, piling bracket: used to corkscrew a post through an EZ Dock bracket down to the water bottom. This anchoring option can be used for depths up to 10 feet max. Because as the length of the pipe increases, so does its susceptibility to bending during inclement weather events. There are exceptions that will depend on the composition of the bottom and the gauge size of the pipe. Dead weight brackets: these are used when dealing with a depth that exceeds the pipe limit or the bottom is too tough for the pipe to access. Stiff Arm Bracket/Floating Hinge Kit: These 2 options are floating platform connections. The Stiff Arm is a shore-based anchoring option for a floating platform. The floating hinge kit connects to an existing stationary dock and allows the EZ Dock to float freely with the water’s rise and fall.

  • EZ Docks are connected using their patented coupler system, which consists of 2 rubber connectors and a nylon rod and nut assembly. The couplers feature a top and bottom and are tapered for a snug fit. They’re referred to as couplers because they’re based on the coupling system used to connect trains together. In the EZ Dock system, the couplers are connected by bringing them together from top and bottom; as opposed to trains that come together from left and right.

  • The coupler system keeps the platform secured in position while allowing each dock section to independently move and react to movement of the water. In order to maintain stability - the dock has to move, as counter-intuitive as it sounds.

  • Yes. EZ Docks were designed to play well with others. And its engineers have designed a line of anchoring options that connect EZ Docks to more than 90% of typical dock platforms - floating or fixed.

  • The rubber couplers are made of recycled heavy duty truck tires. The custom rod and nut are made of a high strength composite nylon.

  • Every EZ dock is designed with a standard perimeter of connection seats in which the coupler connectors are seated (one atop and one below). EZ Dock accessories, ports, pipe brackets feature the same connector shape.

  • Yes, there is! EZ Dock’s in-water custom installation tool is made of aluminum, and is used from atop the dock. It’s slid down into the water in between the dock sections with a coupler and rod in its grip. The tool pulls the coupler into position from above, which is then secured with a top coupler secured with a custom nylon nut screwed into the rod from below.

  • Absolutely. Over 2 decades the Ontario EZ Dock team has been part of on-water applications for events, construction, concerts, athletic challenges, weddings, …. The versatility of the EZ Dock system has allowed us to deliver on virtually every application request we have received.

  • The roller system and hull channel cradle of EZ Ports have been designed for simple, straightforward launching. With a simple technique the front hand on the handle dragging the unit and the back hand on the rear of the seat guiding the machine along the rollers. This keeps the unit straight during pull-back as your PWC glides along the rollers until you’re able to throw one leg over the seat as the machine begins its slight pitch and descent into the water.

  • In order to ensure the safe operation and protection of your watercraft not going below a depth of 2’. With the power of today’s machines, insufficient depth increases the risk of drawing small rocks into the machine during drive-up. ## Will an EZ Dock damage my watercraft? EZ Ports have one purpose - to keep your personal watercraft out of the water and protected. The roller system guides, materials of the dock and the cradle support - have all been purposefully designed to ensure PWC protection. Like anything else, you should ask your EZ Dock provider to give you the ‘On-Off EZ Dock Ride’ tutorial - to ensure you’re using the product correctly. There is a knack to docking properly, so be patient and cautious until you get used to it.
